Marco Polo exhibition @ COYA Mayfair

Last night I got to play art connoisseur with my friend Pippa at the lovely Coya private members club in Mayfair. I've never been to a private exhibition before so I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised!

The display was called "allow me to reintroduce myself" by the Essex based graffiti artist Marco Polo. His work is inspired by his 'tagging' back in Essex and uses a mixture of layers of different medias on canvas to create modern twists on classics and well known objects/people. The canvases were hung over the 2 floors of the club, the bar downstairs and the private dinning room on the first floor. They effortlessly seemed to blend in with the qwerky decor and the huge canvasses naturally fit on the gorgeous double height walls. I would have loved to take one home if it wasn't for the £1K price tag!
